Lorenzo is an Italian journalist, writer and commentator. Great volleyball expert, he worked in Telecapodistria, Telepiù and Sky Sport, of which he was deputy director for 15 years; he has been producing the Volleyball Guide since 1992, as well as books on sport and volleyball in particular. He is also editorial and communication manager at the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A, and organizes sporting events and advanced courses for coaches and managers of Italian sport. He started working in February 1981 at the local Reggio Emilia television Retemilia, dealing from the beginning with sports with commentary and studio conduction, ranging from football to basketball, from volleyball to rugby, from roller hockey to motors; in particular he oversaw the commentary for Reggiana, Nelsen, Corradini and Cantine Riunite, also commenting on the promotion to Serie A2, thanks to the success against Necchi Pavia in the Udine play-off. Then followed four years on Modenese television Antenna 1, commenting on the four consecutive championships won by Panini in volleyball, and then in 1988 he moved to Telecapodistria on behalf of which he followed the Games of the XXIV Olympiad in Seoul, with an event broadcast for the first time. in Italy live 24 hours a day. The specialization in volleyball dates back to that period with the creation of Supervolley, the first rotogravure dedicated to this discipline on television, the comments of the men’s and women’s championships, the national team and beach volleyball.
From Telecapodistria he arrives at the newborn Telepiù, the first Italian pay TV, with the creation of the programs Volleymania, Diretta Volley and Monday Night, becoming over time deputy editor-in-chief, editor-in-chief and finally deputy director, also playing the role of responsible for the acquisition of sports rights. From 2003 to 2015 he held the role of Deputy Director of Sky Sport, with responsibility for all non-football sports: Italian basketball, NBA, rugby, golf, wrestling and volleyball, with the design of a thematic channel on the Italian Cup. Volleyball World 2011 and the commentary, in 2012, of the channel dedicated to volleyball on the occasion of the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London. He also worked on Formula 1 from 2007 to 2010, devising the format of the live studio in the paddock for Sky. From March to August 2019 he created and hosted the Golfmania program broadcast on Sportitalia.
Since August 2019 he has been the editorial and communication manager of the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A.
