He worked for eight years as an external collaborator of the Sardinian Union, and then two years as a local correspondent-informer of the Gazzettino Sardo Rai. After three years as press officer of the Municipality of Cagliari, at the end of 1985 he started working at La Nuova Sardegna dealing with news and politics.

He held the position of president of the Sardinian Press Association from 12 January 1992 to 15 October 2001.

After having been its president for years, he was elected secretary of the National Federation of the Italian press in 2007, a post he left in February 2015.

On 4 August 2015, one of the seven directors within its competence was appointed by the supervisory commission to the RAI Board of Directors.

On the following 16 December he was elected president of the “Confindustria Radio Televisions” association, a body that brings together twenty-one companies operating in the radio and television field, a position confirmed on 11 December 2019.

On 1 May 2019 he was awarded the title of “Grand Official of the Republic in Cagliari.
